China observed a national day fo mourning Sunday for 1249 Victims of last weekend's massive landslide in ZhouQu County,GanSu.
Chinese President Hu Jintaopaid a silent tribute to the mudslide victims Sunday.Former Presedent Jiang Zemin and other chinaese leaders inculding Wu Bangguo,Wen Jiabao,,Li Changchun,Li Keqiang,He Guoqiang and Zhou Yongkang also lamented the death of the mudslide victims
--At the Dongjie Village in ZhouQu,some 5,000 rescue workers and residents bowed thair heads in silence foe 3minutes on the debris of mudslide as sirens andhorns wailed at 10AM.Before the mourning,troops and medical workerscontinued to clear the debris,search foe bodies and spray disinfectant in the area.
--In Beijing,thousands of People gathered at the Tian'anmen Square early Sunday morning to watch the national flag be hosited to full height and then lowered to half-staff.A flag at half-mast was also seen at Xinhuamen.
--Sunday was the 3rd tme in 2years that China has observed national mourning for disaster victims,following the 2008 earthquake WenChuan in SiChuan and April's Quake in YuShu in QingHai
